Organization also promotes Travis Pritchard to program manager
SAN DIEGO, January 17, 2014 –San Diego Coastkeeper dives into 2014 with new Waterkeeper Matt O’Malley and recently promoted Program Manager Travis Pritchard leading its efforts to protect and restore fishable, swimmable and drinkable waters in San Diego County
As the Waterkeeper, O’Malley will rely on his legal background and public policy experience to guide Coastkeeper’s strategy to keep San Diego’s waters plentiful and clean. He brings over a decade of experience collaborating with environmental organizations and nonprofits, most recently including Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter, where he developed testimony and advised campaigns related to clean water, water supply, stormwater permits and land-use issues. Prior to joining Coastkeeper, O’Malley earned his bachelors degree at Rutgers University and his law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law. His services then extended to environmental non-profits and small businesses around the country.
Previously water quality lab manager at Coastkeeper, Travis Pritchard now extends his water expertise over the organization’s full set of programs. In his new role, Pritchard oversees, coordinates and integrates the organization’s science, education and outreach programs to ensure each arm of Coastkeeper maximizes its impact on the organization’s mission.
