DOWNLOADABLE CURRICULUM
Watersheds and Pollution (Middle and High School)
In the middle and high school-level Watersheds and Pollution lesson, students learn about water quality by collecting and analyzing data from their watershed. Students connect real scientific data with sources of pollution and ways they can help in their community.
MARINE DEBRIS
In the Marine Debris lesson, we ask what is marine debris, and how does it affect the ocean? By analyzing beach cleanup data and conducting waste audits, students make connections between human habits and changes to the environment. After learning about how and why marine debris has become a global issue, they will design solutions to reduce waste in their lives.
ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS
In the Animal Adaptations lesson, we dive into why and how animals adapt to their unique environment. Students explore some of San Diego’s amazing aquatic habitats, meet the creatures that live there, and design their own brand new animal!
WATERSHEDS AND POLLUTION (ELEMENTARY)
In the elementary-level Watersheds and Pollution lesson, students learn how pollution moves through watersheds to reach the ocean. They explore the impacts of pollution on their environment and create projects to share solutions with their community.
