Grab a friend and your bike and get ready to be inspired.
We are thrilled to be partnering with our friends at San Diego Sustainable Living Institute and Catching H2O for an all-levels bike ride on Saturday, March 23, featuring some amazing behind-the-scenes local work in sustainable living. We’ll be cruising through the neighborhoods of Golden Hill, South Park, and North Park, stopping along the way at a handful of homes that are using locally harvested water to build an ethic of place from the ground up.
Ride along with us to to check out some of the truly innovative things your neighbors are doing and creating right in their own backyards to localize their landscapes, grow food, and reclaim the natural character of their communities.
The ride kicks off at Einstein Peace Garden at 9 a.m. We’ll be visiting six sites along the eastern side of Balboa Park, with 5 to 15 minutes rides between each. The tour route is designed as a loop, with the last site a ten minute bike ride from the starting point. Your $5 ticket gets you into a half dozen beautiful backyards, a raffle ticket with a chance to win exciting sustainability-oriented prizes (like plants from City Farmers Nursery and yoga from Pilgrimage of the Heart), and locally made food and refreshments along the way. Other ticket options are available for folks who want to borrow bikes to join.
