Erick joined Coastkeeper in July 2023 as the education manager. His work focuses on the development and implementation of K-12 education programs.
Erick received his B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from California State University Fullerton, where he researched how varying test item formats within virtual science tests affect students’ performance across a spectrum of English proficiency. Since 2017 he has been designing and leading K-12 STEM programs based out of Southern California. He hopes that his work in the informal education field can help students cultivate a love for science and engineering.
Erick enjoys experiencing nature in his spare time through hiking, camping, and snorkeling.
